Our Company

Founded in the Netherlands in 2019 by Leon Rutten, Equestic is the consumer brand of Smart Horse Technologies B.V. It was built on his family’s equestrian coaching heritage and strengthened by over 30 years of software and hardware product leadership.

Blending deep knowledge in equestrian sport with cutting-edge expertise in artificial intelligence (AI), product engineering, and marketing, Equestic is focused on innovations that genuinely support coaches, riders, and their horses.

Equestic’s mission is to “help riders and coaches perform with care.”

Our Goal

Our goal is to empower horse owners and riders to achieve their best while always prioritizing the well-being, soundness, and long-term health of their horses. Our ambition is simple but bold: to help one million horses become happy, healthy athletes.

Our Products

Our key products — the EQ Saddle-Clip motion sensor and EQ Coach-Copilot digital assistant — work together as one comprehensive equestrian training platform, connecting the coach’s expertise, the rider’s feel, and objective horse motion data to give the horse a voice in its own training.

Both products have been recognized for innovation: the Saddle-Clip was named Best Equestrian Training Product of the Year in 2017 and received a Silver MUSE Design Award in 2019, while EQ Coach-Copilot has been honored in TITAN Innovation 2026 both Sports Technology and Training and Knowledge-Based Services and Solutions.
